In the redesign the Dolphin is updated with a cleaner, sleeker look, and is no longer wearing an undersized helmet, inadequate for a full contact sport. In the current logo, the dolphin has already reached the apex of it’s jump. By changing the angle of rotation, the Dolphin, no longer in it’s customary playful position, has gained speed and determination. Surging forward with a new found sense of purpose, it is now in a much more aggressive position. Adding black to the logo gives it greater contrast and a bold serious attitude. Not only has the Mascot regained it’s nobility but has become a force to be reckoned with. The bold collegiate “M”, a modernized version of the original M, serves not only as the initial to the marvelous city of Miami, but also as a symbol of strength and tradition.
